The many comments and emails from you, we have very much appreciated. You have always given us new impetus and motivation to continue the trip diary.

We had a wonderful and exciting time in Australia. We in the relatively short period of six months and experienced an enormous amount of experience, so it's sometimes been difficult for us to process the experience to mind at all. It certainly helped us our travel diary, where we recorded our impressions and experiences constantly in words and pictures.

However, we had to in order not to fall into experience stress from time to pause and persist for a few days at the same place. This we have often done in very beautiful places or our friends and relatives in Australia, where we felt very comfortable.

Although it is not without problems, we want below the absolute highlights of our "trip around Down Under" list (in order according to our trip, no contest):

This list does the "Highligts" our journey is not exhaustive. It is, as all the impressions naturally on the weather and the individual feelings and impressions significantly affected and therefore to be regarded as a snapshot. I think there are many beautiful places and areas that we did not mention that we have but also like very much. Devil Phrases And Sayings

Back to Europe

Sydney - Singapore - Zurich (NSW) (Sunday, 08/02/2009)
Weather: very nice / Temp: 22 degrees / Wind: 1 - 2 HE

Today, it definitely means goodbye to Sydney and Australia. We find it unexpectedly difficult for us to part with this beautiful continent. It is not only the responsibility of the whole journey extremely stable good weather. There are many nice and friendly people we met at various occasions, the dreamlike landscapes, coasts, beaches, bays, we have admired and not least the unique animal and plant life, which give us the whole trip again has enthusiastically.

It is to mention some exciting that we still have a cloudless sky above us and accompanies us great weather until the end of our trip. But if we are to the Swiss Weather think this is something special. We still look just the weather forecasts for Switzerland on the Internet. On our arrival to it as it could be different, to rain again. Since we already have seen many no rain, we thirst formally indicate to experience that special feeling again ;-)

Our flight with the "Singapore Airlines" only starts at 17.50 clock. So we have half a day in "Sydney" in front of us before we go to the airport. After we checked out of the hotel are walking, we again go through the "Hyde Park" and the beautiful "Botanic Gardens", both of which connect directly to the inner city. This beautiful walk to the "Parramatta River" we have been down to our last "Sydney" residence often made.

The War Memorial at the southern end of the "Hyde Park" is still in renovation.

One of the most beautiful fountain in the park is also a war memorial.

The last monument that we watch today is the first Governor of the State of New South Wales "dedicated.

The "flying dogs" hang still very numerous in the trees of the park. The government wants to resettle them properly, just about the how people still break the heads :-)

The view from the "Botanic Gardens" from the opera house is particularly attractive.

But and the garden itself has a lot to offer, including a tropical greenhouse.

The impressive skyline in the background with the blue sky provides a welcome contrast to the green vegetation.

appears after lunch time then suddenly racing. We would have even looked at this and that or leisurely drink at the harbor in a cafe for a cappuccino. It now is nothing. Our shuttle bus leaves at 14.00 clock and we have only a few hours until our departure. The formalities at the airport we go through quickly and without problems. We have our luggage in advance meticulously weighed and spread our stuff perfectly.

in time we can board the Boeing 777-300s of the "Singapore Airlines". We have, as always, get a window seat and hope that we can throw at departure one last breathtaking view of our favorite city.

The dusk runs along this latitude mountains without ever quite quickly, so it's already dark at the start, unfortunately.

On the one hand, we find it very difficult to leave this unique continent, because who knows when we can once again come here. On the other hand, we are now in Europe, because they also are yet to discover many beautiful and interesting.
"Goodbye Australia, maybe see you again sometime."

The stopover in "Singapore" runs smoothly. We can only terminal on the same four "Gates" more change on the plane to Zurich.

the "Singapore" airport with its full-scale luxury carpet is always impressive. It is probably the only airport building in the world that offers such a thing.

The Dawn takes a long time because the plane is flying in the opposite direction of the Earth's rotation, ie quasi Nacht-/Tagesgrenze us followed.

We are approaching Europe, which is unfortunately dominated once again by a low pressure area, and so does the formation of clouds gradually become :-)

We are still flying a lap of honor to Schaffhausen and the " Rhine Falls "and end up with a slight delay safely in Zurich Kloten.

We did it and finished our nearly eight and a half-month Asien-/Australienreise happy and without health problems. The only medical error: The weather does not receive us very friendly. A thick cloud layer is about today, Monday throughout Switzerland, and as we approach St. Gallen starts it to rain.

the afternoon, when we are traveling on a scooter, it even rains in torrents and the thermometer shows 14 degrees straight at times and this in the summer. From tomorrow, the weather will gradually reveal its better side, fortunately for us, because we have this week to be done a lot and especially our beloved camper "Elchi" back on track.

We feel in any case after a few miles drive back at home again ;-) The streets are narrow and the curves more closely. Curves of the road users and in Switzerland often cut and used simple and double safety lines run over without scruple. Flashed only in an emergency when another driver gets in the way and if they did, then the highest one second before the turn. Such a thing has happened to us in Australia before. Generally, the way in which the Swiss drivers aggressive and rude towards other road users. Where do these many bad habits like that?

early as one week we will continue our travel and touring, first in Germany and Austria. The new " Travel Diary 4 " for our trips to Europe 2009 is already born.

soon ...
