Rainbow Beach - Noosa Heads (Qld) (Thursday, 6/25/2009)
Weather: Cloudy to overcast / Temp: 25 degrees / Wind: 1 - 2 HE
Unfortunately, the weathermen say requires a further rain failure, so that they will be expected to rain tomorrow. Even at dawn, the sky is very cloudy and can not imagine good.
We drive to our next destination "Noosa Heads", which is about 120 km south. The road to the "Highway" is a veritable roller coaster.
the way we do in "Gympie", a nice town, a stop.
We wander a bit through the Main Shopping Street ". The cheapest Chemist, the "Good Price Pharmacy Warehouse, is also represented.
After "Noosa Heads" There are only a few kilometers. We choose the BIG4 Camping Bougainvillia Holiday Park, which lies on the outskirts and NET4 Wireless has :-) "Noosa Heads" is actually just one of five districts. This tourist area is also still in Noosa Junction, Noosa Ville, "" Noosa Waters "and" Tewantin, "which are all situated along the Noosa River and the idyllic" inlets. " After lunch take
our first discovery. Since the sky is overcast now, follow the beautiful photos with blue skies after the rain front hip. During our walk we meet again the fascinating "Pandanus Palms.
The Italian restaurant with the best rated pizza on the Sunshine Coast ", the" Zachary's Gourmet Pizza Bar in Noosa Heads City ", we have also discovered. The pizza is scheduled for tomorrow evening.

Weather: cloudy, sunny / Temp: 25 degrees HE had 2
Actually, it will rain today, but the sun pushes through the clouds in the morning and have breakfast with pleasant 18 degrees air temperature in front of our Büssli - 1: / wind.
for a walk on the beach, the sky still overcast, and so we decide to stroll through the largest shopping center in the town, the Noosa Civic.
romp Here, about 100 shops, boutiques and cafes. As is usual in Australia, a spacious parking area is free of charge.
The modern shopping center contains also a "Food Court", "Subway" is attending ;-)
The wholesalers "Woolworths" from the Australians affectionately called "Wooly's", is also represented.
We wander a bit through the many shops, although we have no real intention to buy.
As we left the "Shopping Center" seems to step out, already, the sun and the sky clears up. Something called the Australian weathermen rain. We should be right :-)'s
"Noosa" is a city of the roundabout. There are certainly hundreds against them. Who is not fixed curve, should avoid the city ;-) We rely entirely on the orientation of our navigation system. Our "TomTom" has also piloted us confidently through the gyro-maze.
there for lunch today's delicious pancakes (pancakes) of "Wooly's" prepared by Anita with lots of love.
with mango jam, they fit best. "En Gueta!"
the afternoon we go again for 'Noose Heads ". Today we take a little more time to look around. The shopping street with many shops, restaurant and cafe is attractive and inviting for a stroll.
Unfortunately, it is not free of cars, so that one must always be careful when crossing hellish.
The beach presents itself unfortunately gray.
gradually makes the hunger felt. We are excited about the pizza at Zachary's Gourmet Pizza Bar, which is indeed the best of the entire "Sunshine Coast" to be. The restaurant on the first floor is relatively small and not readily recognizable as an Italian restaurant. We order for both of us together a great "Pizza Inferno".
To put it forward to take away the first place on our pizza Leaderboard she does not get to the dough is too undefinert and as Such being minimal. Also the overall appearance is not convincing. Taste the pizza is ok, but not overwhelming. We would grant her the third highest rank of all the pizzas, which we have eaten here in Australia so far.
The first two places went to a pizzeria in "Sydney" and another for "Exmouth. Their pizzas were perfectly in every respect.

Weather: nice / Temp: 24 degrees / Wind: 1 - 2 HE
apparently has the rain front a little late and is only arrived at night. It has also partly because of rain and, so we had to Büssli all hatches to shut down. The morning greets us again already timid sunshine. Today we are a "recovery and recreation day" one. The luxury mobile laundry basket in the washing machine is included :-)
The poor campers do us harm. They have all their wet stuff in the "Kitchen Room" out to dry. This camping tent with the phase we have thankfully behind us :-) The swimming pool is indeed "Winter Heated. However, we have seen so far no bathing guests.
At the "Sunshine Coast", there is just not currently Bathing weather and the unusual wet season lasts here now for over a month. You already think about this, the "Sunshine Coast" in Rainbow Coast rename ";-) But now is, according to the weather forecasters, this bad weather period to be finally overcome. Today is forecast for the next seven days beautiful winter weather with temperatures of 21 to 26 degrees.
Within an hour we again have a cloudless sky above us. We are truly amazed at how quickly the weather here changes. "Noosa Heads" looks in fine weather, like any town, much more attractive from. The sumptuous villas on the "Inlet" are sometimes put up for sale. This built almost on water level Building with its own sandy beach and boat dock will be the rise in sea level because of the predicted global warming will soon get even problems.
The sea gnaws now to the sandy beaches, so that currently protected by a broad-based actions of the whole beach with stone blocks.
Whether the underlying apartment buildings and hotels served thus remains questionable. Beautiful sandy beach goodbye!
Walking on the track we walk along the coast to the "Dolphin Point. The trails around the "Noosa Heads", which as "Noosa National Park is "retired, are created complicated.
There are five different tracks. We are content for now with the coastal track No. 4, which provides a wonderful view of the sea and the various bays.
sandy bays and rocky sections alternate with each other.
Then there are the traditional "Paper Bark Trees", which here in script with the competing "Pandanus Trees".
surfing makes you tired. The two are buried here on the beach for the next "ride" from.
As a conclusion of our morning walk, we walk a bit through the center of Noosa Heads.
Also in the main street is dominated by the deep green plants, which determined this year they know of no water shortage.

Weather: very nice / Temp: 25 degrees / Wind: 1 - 2 HE
The bad weather period now seems finally overcome. Bluer than the Today's may not even be a heaven. What is better than a Sunday breakfast in the sun.
In contrast to Switzerland, where the trees even in winter, never lose all the leaves. Thus, the vegetation in winter looks practically the same as in summer. The palm leaves stand out from the dark blue sky as particularly beautiful.
first morning we climb the "Noosa Heads Lookout. A steep flight of steps leads to a few hundred determined the highest elevation in the city.
Halfway up we take a first Looking back at Noosa Heads.
We pass beautiful noble mansions, but mostly hidden in the forest are without great views.
Finally after fifteen minutes, the rise is a real fitness course, we reach the "Lookout" (for Easy: it is also a road leads up ;-) The effort has paid off. "Noosa Heads" lies at our feet.
We can now clearly see the wonderful location of the village, nestled between the various "inlets and creeks, a gorgeous view.
Next, we visit the weekly Sunday market in Noosa Marina. The area around the port with jetties and cafes offers the appropriate environment for the small market.
Even a small band playing on here.
on the market are mainly home-made items, artwork, toys and clothing available.
located on the site is also a cute "Visitor Information Center.
A nice sign on the railings indicates a bad habit of smoking.
Had better anyway :-)
We leave the Noosa River and continue walking for "Noosa Ville" to something there along the beach promenade.
We meander through several roundabout through until we find a parking space.
The beach promenade is now well attended Sunday. Young and old have fun on the spacious parks.
is the striking red-colored water, which particularly in sandy bottom visible.
We choose among the many restaurants and cafes suitable for lunch.
like this row of houses are especially good. There are some equally cozy cafes.
It probably depends on the budget, whether hanging out in front of a building or electrical, overhead wires ...
... or not. move
For the cappuccino after lunch we are to "McDonald's", which is also in "Noosa Ville" is located.
about the food at McDonald's can be divided. At the café the price / performance ratio is unbeatable. One in six café is also free (with a coffee card). The "Soft Ice Cones" for only 50 cents, we appreciate it. In addition there are a few other important advantages. "McDonnald's Restaurants" can be found easily, since they are situated along the main highway in a city or large "Shopping Centers". It has always enough parking. The toilets are generally clean and the staff friendly, and for us particularly important: "Free WiFi" with up to 50 MB. What more could you want?
